Attack Competitive Soccer

The Attack Competitive Soccer program is designed for those who are more serious about soccer and wish to play in a positive, structured environment and work with professional coaches that combine teaching and coaching techniques to fully develop each players full potential.  Players must tryout for and be picked to play on a team in their age bracket.  Although there is no guarantee a player will be selected, we encourage all players to tryout.  Our goal is to have teams at all different age and skill levels so that any player can find a team that fits their needs.  Click on the tabs below for more information.

Participate in our Age Group Kick Arounds
Attack is still looking for players and each coach is holding kick arounds to give players an opportunity to come out and meet the team and experience being part of our club.  The kick arounds are open to all players, but you must register to attend!

To help keep the players, coaches, and families safe while attending these kick arounds, the following guidelines will be in place:
    • All players will be required to wear a mask, they must wear shin guards and soccer cleats, bring their own water and soccer ball.
    • Players will be required to wear a mask coming on the field and leaving the field.  Once the kick around starts players will not be required to wear a mask, but the coach may ask them to put one on during the kick around for certain activities.
    • Parents will be asked to drop your player in the designated Drop Off area and pick them up in the designated Pick-Up area.  If you would like to stay you will be asked to remain in your car.  If you leave your car you will be required to wear a face mask and parents will not be allowed on the playing field but must remain in the designated “Watch Area" at the fields.  Siblings will also need to wear a mask (unless they are 2 years or younger) and will need to remain with their parent.

    Attack Competitive Soccer Overview

    Come Join Us!
Each Attack team has a professional coach who has played either professionally and/or in a collegiate setting at some point in their career.  All of our coaches have a great deal of knowledge and experience working with young players and are enthusiastic and dedicated to developing players to become great soccer players while exhibiting good sportsmanship and having fun.  More information on each of our coaches can be found on the Coaching Staff page.

The competitive soccer season typically starts in the May to June time frame.  Teams will practice a minimum of 2 times per week throughout the season, attend a mandatory team camp and compete in preseason tournaments throughout San Diego and southern California.  League play starts the Saturday after Labor Day and continues until Thanksgiving.  Older teams (U14-U19) will take a break from December through February during the High School season, but the younger teams will continue with post-season and State Cup tournaments that typically finish up in late February.   Once the High School season is completed, the Older teams will begin their post-season tournaments finishing up in early May with State Cup.

Tryouts are held at different times during the winter and spring depending upon the age group and the level of play for individual teams.  Tryout dates will be posted on the website and information distributed through the schools and via email to all our current Rec and Competitive players.  Check our tryouts page for more information on actual dates and times and which teams may still need players.

Registration information will be posted once the tryouts have taken place and the teams have been selected.  Information on Registration Fees will be given out at the tryouts along with other information on the team, such as the level of play, the proposed camp and tournament schedule and an estimate of Team Fees.  Financial Assistance is available to help offset a portion of the Registration fees.  Anyone interested in receiving financial assistance must apply using the Scholarship Application form and provide the required materials.

Skill development is an important component of the Attack Competitive program and skills clinics are offered throughout the summer and fall for all players.  Goalie clinics are also offered and all players are encouraged to attend at least one skills session a week.

  • Junior Development Program

The Attack Junior Development Program (JDP) was created as a bridge between recreational and competitive soccer for our youngest players, 2012-2013 age groups.  The program was developed to offer these players the advantages of professional coaching while creating an environment that is both positive and challenging.  The goal of this program is to focus on player development in a safe atmosphere that allows them to have fun as they learn essential soccer skills.  This is an exciting program with the player’s individual growth and enjoyment as its focus.  They teams will play a 7v7 format and participate in our Junior Development League in the fall.

The program is directed by Coach Matt Seipt, who brings a wealth of experience to these teams and is focused on individual skills-building to improve technique with these young players.  Coach Matt directs several coaches in the design and implementation of the JDP curriculum.
